Additional notesColne Cemetery is the largest and oldest Cemetery in the Council's care, situated off Keighley Road, Colne and measures 4.61 hectares in size and has been open since 1860. The cemetery is open and closed everyday to reflect daytime hours, and is accessible to cars. Colne Cemetery is located in a very tranquil area situated on a steep slope giving the cemetery fantastic south facing and near panoramic views over Trawden and the Lancashire countryside. We have carefully placed seating in the cemetery to ensure visitors are able to sit and contemplate and remember their loved ones. We have also ensured there are sufficient water supplies and waste baskets to help maintain the gravesides of your nearest and dearest. The site incorporates a Chapel of Rest which is available for funeral services. The Cemetery also offers a memorial niche wall for the placing of cremated remains. As an alternative to the Niche Walls, we have newly installed a Bespoke Ashes Section at the Cemetery, which are individual chambers which can hold up to 4 sets of ashes with a lasting memorial.
