Additional notesStocksbridge Cemetery, originally owned by Stocksbridge Parish Council, covers 18 acres and serves the communities of Stocksbridge, Deepcar and surrounding areas. The first burial was held on 12 December 1950 and to date over 1300 burials have taken place. Types of graves available New graves are available on lawn sections for up to 3 interments (limited to 2 in some areas) New graves for the interment of cremated remains only Existing family graves can be reopened to allow further interments with the authority of the present grave owner. Areas have been set aside for particular religious denominations Please note that all new graves are leased for 30 years, this lease being renewable at the end of this period. All records and plans for this cemetery are retained at City Road Cemetery Offices
