Additional notesThe window panels in Colmonell Church are some of the finest examples of stained glass in Scotland. The churchyard took third prize in the 1998 CBA National Cemetery of the Year Awards. McConnell Mausoleum. Three Covenanters graves. The Covenanters were named after two convenants that they signed and fought for. These were the National Covenant of 1638 and the Solemn League Covenant of 1643. These convenants achieved the freedom of the Church to settle their own government and worship, freedom which continues to this day.
